Maite Arcos, Director General of Telecommunications and Management of Audiovisual Communication Services of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, headed by Vice President Nadia Calviño, will inaugurate the fourth edition of the 5G Forum in its Spanish edition. The Director will present a key topic for the Spanish economy in the coming years: the strategy to boost the development of 5G technology, to which 2,000 million euros will be allocated until 2025 from European aid for the revival of the Spanish economy.
The 5G Forum, which is organized by Medina Media Events and will be held from May 4 to 6, will once again bring together executives and the main Spanish companies involved in this revolutionary technology, at a decisive moment in the Spanish digital agenda.
Maite Arcos, Director General of Telecommunications and Management of Audiovisual Communication Services of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, will give the keys to the virtual attendees of the 5G Forum to take advantage of the opportunities that investment in 5G projects offers to Spanish companies and professionals over the next four years.
“The Strategy for the Impulse of 5G Technology” will be the title of the presentation by Arcos, one of the few influential women in the digital economy and who already last year participated in the 5G Forum, which due to the cancellation of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona was the most important specific event in Spain on 5G technology.
In the 2020 edition, the companies sponsoring the 5G Forum in Spain were top international multinationals such as Cisco, Vodafone, Samsung, Intracom Telecom, Huawei, RTVE-Impulsa Visión, Rohde & Schwarz, Nokia, Hispasat, Axión and Nemergent, in addition to 5Genesis and the National 5G Observatory, an initiative promoted by Mobile World Capital, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation and Red.es.
In addition, the 5G Forum since 2018 has brought together every year senior executives and guest speakers from the European Commission, EBU-Eurovision, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), the University of Malaga (UMA) and the most important telecoms in the country.
More than 50 5G research projects are currently being developed in Spain and the most relevant ones will be presented at the 5G Forum, the most important specialized and academic event in Spain on 5G technology, where Spanish companies, multinationals and public institutions present their progress and pilot projects in society every year.
The first day of the 5G Forum 2021, on Tuesday, May 4, will be dedicated to major national and international 5G projects, with the participation of European and national authorities and leading multinationals worldwide, also introducing a global view of 6G. The second day, on Wednesday, May 5, will focus on the advances of 5G and Audiovisual; and the third, on Thursday, May 6, on the pilots that are being developed in Spain by companies and universities.
Another of the great novelties of this year’s edition, with respect to the 5G Forum 2020, is that in addition to the presentations, sponsors will have the opportunity to conduct question and answer sessions with attendees and invited customers, demos, webinars and One2One meetings, with the platform created by Medina Media Events.
