The ‘5G Forum 23’ starts tomorrow its sixth edition in FIBES

  • Antonio Fernández-Paniagua, Deputy Director General for Radio Spectrum Planning and Management of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation; Antonio Sanz, Councilor of the Presidency of the Regional Government of Andalusia, and Francisco Javier Páez, Deputy Mayor of Seville will be in charge of inaugurating the event.

Tomorrow starts the ‘5G Forum 23’. The Deputy Director General of Planning and Management of the Radio Spectrum, Antonio Fernández-Paniagua; the Minister of Presidency of the Andalusian Regional Government, Antonio Sanz; and Francisco Javier Páez, Deputy Mayor of Seville, will be in charge of inaugurating this sixth edition.

Under the slogan “Where 5G leaders meet”, the 5G Forum kicks off what is now its sixth edition at the Seville Conference and Exhibition Center (FIBES), with two face-to-face sessions, May 8 and 9, and three virtual sessions, May 10, 11 and 12.

Institutional presence at ‘Forum 23

This sixth edition of the 5G Forum will be attended by Antonio Fernández-Paniagua, who will be in charge of presenting the new “Map of 5G in Spain” so far in 2023. In addition, he will also give the keys about the situation of the aids that the Ministry is calling for the implementation and deployment of 5G.

For his part, the Deputy Mayor of Seville, Francisco Javier Paez, who will be the star host of the province, will welcome on behalf of the city to all professionals and visitors who are in the Palace of Congresses and Exhibitions.

The Junta de Andalucía, as it could not be otherwise, will also be present through the Minister of Presidency Antonio Sanz, who will make a presentation in which he will advance the processes in which ‘Digital Andalusia’ is immersed. The Junta de Andalucía has carried out an important bet for the digital transformation in the Community. To this end, it has created the Digital Agency of Andalusia (ADA), whose purpose is that technology facilitates the lives of all Andalusian citizens, being an engine of economic and social change.

Renowned multinationals on the opening day

In addition to the institutions, many multinationals will be present tomorrow Monday at FIBES. Orange, through its Sales Director, Javier Olveira, will make a presentation on how the different private networks that exist today in the 5G.

On behalf of Telefónica, Leonor Ostos, Innovation Manager, and José Antonio González Florido, Head of Digital Business, will talk about the Spanish company’s vision of the current 5G situation, as well as the most relevant projects they have tackled and what is still to come for 5G in the coming years.

Minsait, through Daniel García Manteiga, Director of Products and Business Development for Telco and Media; and Francisco Donato Bergia, Director of Infrastructure Operation (Phygital), will conduct a panel on solutions for private networks, both in 5G and 6G, through Data and Artificial Intelligence.

On the other hand, Jaume Sanpera, CEO and Co-Founder of Sateliot; Noelia López, Sustainability and AI Marketing Driver at Ericsson; Pablo Álvarez, Managing Director of Netmetrix, will also take part, as well as a panel on the city of Seville with the participation of Antonio Jiménez, CEO of Sevilla City Office; Federico Rollán, Head of the Smart Tourism Office; and José Ayub, CEO and Co-Founder of Galgus.

Exclusive demonstrations at the ‘5G Forum 2023’.

This inaugural day will be the perfect opportunity to enjoy the main innovations that leading multinationals in the world of technology will make available to attendees at FIBES.

Companies such as Minsait, Nokia, Viavi Solutions, Rohde & Schwarz, Telefónica, Tesla, Orange, Medina Media Events or UHD Spain will be present in the demonstration area of the Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones.

Finland’s Nokia will exhibit up to three demos. The first is a Pinball game that has the novelty of being able to be played with Distributed Reality. There will also be a demonstration called ‘The Volcano’, which will allow attendees to walk on an erupting volcano and control their movements thanks to Virtual Reality technology. The third will be a robot-dog called ‘Perkins’, designed for surveillance and first aid.

For its part, Orange will present a store in the Metaverse where visitors can enter with their own avatar and make purchases. There will also be a tennis court that will allow playing in real time thanks to 5G technology and Virtual Reality glasses. Telefónica, on the other hand, will present ‘Spainclick’, a chroma with which it intends to surprise attendees.

Tesla, the company commanded by Elon Musk, will allow participants to test several smart cars in a closed circuit. Minsait will present a robotic arm with 5G connectivity.

Germany’s Rohde & Schwarz will present its ‘R&S®CMX500’ platform, which simplifies and streamlines the 5G testing process. Viavi Solutions will exhibit 5G signal analysis, including coverage, timing and synchronism, interference, mmWave and EMF testing.

For its part, the UHD Spain association will show Ultra High Definition content that can be broadcasted through 5G technology. Finally, Medina Media Events, organizer of the event, will present its pioneering multiplatform ‘The Observatory’.

The sixth edition of the 5G Forum is promoted by Sevilla City Office and Fibes, and has the support of Junta de Andalucía and the Digital Agency of Andalusia, in addition to Orange, Telefónica, Viavi Solutions, Ericsson, Capgemini, Rohde & Schwarz, Minsait, Netmetrix, OFG, ZTE, Huawei, Vantage Towers, Vodafone, Nokia, Gsertel, Hispasat, Axión and Impulsa Visión RTVE, among others.
