The fourth edition of the 5G Forum, the most important specialized event in Spain on 5G technology, in which Spanish companies and multinationals present their progress and pilot projects in society, will be held on May 4, 5 and 6 in virtual format, extending the event’s agenda to three days, the organizer Medina Media Events announced today.
“We have extended the agenda by one day because 5G is going to more and we want all those companies and projects that are being launched in Spain to have their place and the opportunity to present themselves to the community. What is not told, is as if it did not exist”, explains Ricardo Medina, CEO of Medina Media Group.
The success of the third (virtual) edition in 2020, and the unstoppable implementation of 5G at Spanish, European and global level, have made the 5G Forum the main national meeting in Spain of this new technology, covering a space for sharing and dissemination showcase of the efforts being made in Spain to make it a reality and useful for consumers.
In the 2020 edition, the companies sponsoring the 5G Forum in Spain were multinationals such as Cisco, Vodafone, Samsung, Intracom Telecom, Huawei, RTVE-Impulsa Visión, Rohde & Schwarz, Nokia, Hispasat, Axión and Nemergent, as well as 5Genesis and the National 5G Observatory, an initiative promoted by Mobile World Capital, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation and Red.es.
But, in addition, the 5G Forum brings together every year senior executives and guest speakers from the European Commission, EBU-Eurovision, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), the University of Malaga (UMA) and the most important telecoms in the country.
“Every year since 2018 the 5G Forum (the first two editions were in Malaga and the third was already virtual) offers the advances that occur in Spain on 5G. In 2020, 8 new pilots have been launched and we want everyone to have the opportunity to show them, in addition to the two mega-projects that started in 2019. They want to communicate them and we all want to know first-hand about their experiences and successes, which will have an immediate application in the real economy in the coming years,” says Medina.
The first day of the 5G Forum 2021, on Tuesday, May 4, will be dedicated to major national and international projects, with European and national authorities and leading global multinationals.
The second day, on Wednesday, May 5, will focus on 5G and audiovisual advances; and the third, on Thursday, May 6, on the pilots being developed in Spain by companies and universities.
Another of the great novelties of this year’s edition, with respect to the 5G Forum 2020, is that in addition to the presentations, sponsors will have the opportunity to conduct question and answer sessions with attendees and invited customers, demos, webinars and One2One meetings, with the new platform created by Medina Media Events and already launched at the 4K Summit 2020, the main global meeting on Ultra High Definition (UHD), and the Extenda Global last November.
