SEVILLE PREPARES TO RECEIVE THE 5G LEADERS TOMORROW AT FIBES

The Mayor of Seville, Antonio Muñoz, will inaugurate the most important 5G event in Spain, together with Antonio Fernández-Paniagua, Deputy Director General for Planning and Management of the Radioelectric Spectrum of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation.

The countdown begins for the celebration of the fifth edition of the most important 5G event in Spain, the 5G Forum. Tomorrow, Monday, May 9, the Seville Conference and Exhibition Center, Fibes, will be its headquarters under the slogan “Where the 5G leaders meet”.

There will be a total of five days: the first face-to-face day and the following virtual ones. Large telcos, multinationals, municipalities, universities and experts will reflect on the current state of 5G and how it will evolve in the coming years.

The opening ceremony of the 5G Forum, on Monday, May 9, will be led by the Mayor of Seville, Antonio Muñoz, and the Deputy Director General for Planning and Management of the Radioelectric Spectrum from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, Antonio Fernández-Paniagua, who will share with the professional attendees the current map of 5G in Spain.

This face-to-face conference will be key for networking and getting to know the unpublished reports on 5G and 6G at a national and global level, from recognized experts such as María Rua, Senior Research Director, Media and Entertainment, Technology Fellow of Omdia, who will offer a report exclusive on 5G worldwide.

Later, on this opening day, Narcís Cardona, Professor at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, will speak about 5G and 6G in Spain, in an important year such as 2022, in which it will be seen how operators activate the full version of 5G and how the numerous use cases that have been demonstrated in the dozens of 5G pilots carried out in Spain in very different sectors, become commercial applications in industry, agriculture, transport, the automotive industry or the internet of things, among others. others.

Next, Juan Olivares, Director of Business Development for Europe at OnMobile, will talk about 5G and the Gaming revolution. Olivares will make us reflect on how 5G technology will become one of the key disruptors that will impact and transform the user experience and the companies that make up the gaming industry.

Among other demonstrations, attendees who come to the 5G Forum will be able to see a robot dog designed for surveillance and first aid. They will also be able to walk on an erupting volcano controlling where they are stepping, thanks to the fact that they can see their own body in the virtual experience or teleport to another place and interact with the people there.

Attendees will also be able to learn how an avatar is capable of providing remote assistance in a factory through 5G; see how a digital Mupi can offer 5G coverage to any citizen while walking through their neighborhood or driving an exclusive Tesla electric car model.
