Consolidated as one of the most important technological events in Spain and Europe on 5G and 6G technology, the scope of the 5G Forum extends beyond the national and European scope with the presence of leading companies in the sector from America and Asia. The eighth edition, which will make Seville the epicenter of 5G and 6G technology from May 12 to 16, will bring together leading companies such as the Asian companies Huawei, NTT DATA and ZTE, as well as the American Oracle and the presence of ICT Development Consulting.
Around 60 national and international entities will participate in the eighth edition of the 5G Forum, where they will showcase the latest innovations and trends that are shaping the future of global connectivity. Among them, the participation of the Chinese multinational Huawei with Fernando de la Cruz, chief architect of wireless solutions, who during the opening day will address the technological advances that accelerate the intelligent world we know today.
José Capote, Head of Cybersecurity and Privacy at Huawei Spain and Portugal, will participate in the ‘Cyber Day’, a day dedicated entirely to cybersecurity, which is part of the high-level agenda of the 5G Forum. Capote will talk, among other issues, about the management of security configuration in 5G networks and its compliance with the basic security requirements defined by the operators themselves.
Major Asian leaders at the 5G Forum
The 5G Forum brings together key players in the global technology industry with an important representation of telecommunications and mobile technology giants. World-renowned companies from both the Americas and Asia will bring to the table their most advanced developments in 5G networks, devices and connectivity solutions.
The Chinese company ZTE will also be present in this eighth edition with the participation of Victor Pascual, CTO Spain and Portugal of this global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions. Under the leadership of Victor Pascual, throughout his career both in operators and currently in ZTE, his teams have deployed more than 40,000 radio, central and fixed sites, leading the introduction of new technologies such as LTE, 5G, GPON, XGSPON, SDN, Virtualization, Cloud, AI and Cybersecurity.
NTT DATA, a Japanese business and technology services company, reaffirms its commitment to technological innovation and network transformation through its participation in the 5G Forum, where it presents advanced solutions based on 5G, artificial intelligence, automation, open networks, among many other technologies. These solutions mark the path towards 6G and zero-touch business models, which optimize both the deployment and operation of networks, enabling new monetization opportunities.
World reference from the Americas
Oracle, headquartered in Texas (USA), is one of the world’s major powers in the development of cloud and on-premise solutions. Sergio Ibáñez, Oracle’s Director of Presales for 5G in Europe, will participate during the second day of the 5G Forum together with Juan Mas, CTO of Datatronics. Both will offer insights on how automation of 5G SA networks, in conjunction with continuous monitoring and learning, can help monetize the deployment investment and its evolution.
José Otero, CEO of ICT Development Consulting, will already speak in the fourth session of this forum, the first virtual day, about the challenges and opportunities for 5G in Latin America, where countries such as Brazil, Uruguay, Chile and the Dominican Republic are leading this deployment with coverage exceeding 67% and reaching up to 75%. “5G is advancing, but unevenly. Geopolitical tensions, costs and the lack of accessible devices threaten its expansion”, says José Otero, who considers Europe as a regulatory reference, although Latin America should build its own technological agenda.
