MasOrange and the 5G revolution: Meinrad Spenger, protagonist at 5G Forum in Seville

  • The Cartuja Auditorium -managed by Yventu- will host the three face-to-face sessions on Monday 12, Tuesday 13 and Wednesday 14 May. Subsequently, the final two days will be held in online format on Thursday May 15 and Friday May 16.

 

The 5G Forum will once again feature a high-level agenda in which telephone operators will play a leading role throughout the 2025 edition, especially on the opening day. On the first day of the three face-to-face sessions of the eighth edition, leading executives and professionals from the main operators with a presence in Spain will present the main advances in the market and the industry in 5G technology.

Among the extensive list of participants of the nearly 60 entities that will meet in Seville, the presence of Meinrad Spenger, CEO of MasOrange, who will serve as ‘Speaker of Honor’ of the eighth edition of the 5G Forum, stands out.

MasOrange’s CEO will share his thoughts on the potential of 5G technology and the innovations starring his company during the opening day, among other issues of interest, such as artificial intelligence. “We are the Spanish operator with the greatest capacity to extract the potential of AI thanks to the largest customer database in Spain and our advanced analytics,” says Spenger, who will also talk about new trends in his sector.

The new company, the result of the merger of Orange and MásMóvil, was launched just over a year ago and is now the telecommunications operator with the largest number of customers in the Spanish market, with some 39 million broadband and mobile lines. In addition, it offers TV, insurance, energy, alarms, consumer finance, health, cybersecurity and cloud services for private and business customers.

 

Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity

Artificial Intelligence and cybersecurity will be two other major topics to be discussed at the eighth edition of the 5G Forum, which will turn Seville into the epicenter of 5G and 6G technology from May 12 to 16, . The Cartuja Auditorium -managed by Yventu-, located in the Cartuja Science and Technology Park, will host the three face-to-face sessions (Monday 12, Tuesday 13 and Wednesday 14), while on Thursday 15 and Friday 16 the two virtual sessions will be held in online format.

 

A future of opportunities for users and companies

Javier Olveira, Director of B2B Customer Engineering at MasOrange, will also participate during the opening day of the event and will talk about 5G in the enterprise in terms of operational efficiency and quality of service.

Among the new features of the 5G Forum 2025 will be the celebration of the ‘Cyber Day’, a day dedicated to cybersecurity. This initiative adds to the agenda of a forum already consolidated as one of the most important in Spain and Europe on 5G technology. The event will be attended by Andrés Algaba, head of cybersecurity products at Orange (MasOrange Group).

On the fourth day, the first virtual day of the 5G Forum, Angélica Sánchez, Portfolio Brand Director of MasOrange, will speak about cybersecurity and explain how 5G allows to offer the most advanced solutions and protect its customers and their operations.

All conferences will be available for on-demand viewing through ‘The Observatory’, the digital platform of Medina Media Events, where each conference will be available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, free of charge.
